Fathima suicide case: Students sit on hunger strike, seek justice
Chennai, Nov 18 (ANI): In the latest development in the Fathima Lateef suicide case, two IIT students began hunger strike demanding fair investigation into the case. Fathima Lateef committed suicide allegedly over religious persecution.
The deceased's parents recovered a mobile phone note that named a member of the faculty as the reason for her death. Chennai Police transferred the case to Central Crime Branch (CCB).
Police began preliminary investigation. The first year student of an integrated MA programme in the humanities was found dead in her hostel room last week.
