Kollam: Some students from Kerala are also involved in the incidents that led to the suicide of Fathima Latheef, 19, at IIT Chennai last month.
Fathima Latheef’s father Abdul Latheef said, “her college mates, including NRI students and some seniors, have a major role in her death, apart from her teachers who mentally tortured her. There is strong evidence to prove the involvement of these students which will be produced before the court,” he said.
Latheef also said he would publish more evidence if the arrest of the accused is delayed indefinitely. Meanwhile, the forensic department, after inspecting the laptop and tablet PC used by Fathima, confirmed before the court that the suicide note was written by her prior to her suicide.
The family will also demand the Prime Min-ister’s intervention to appoint an independent agency to conduct the investigation. The central Crime Branch poli-ce team under Chennai City Police Commissio-ner A.K. Viswanathan had completed a preliminary investigation.
Fathima Latheef was found hanging from the ceiling of her hostel ‘Sarayu’ on November 9.
