A student of IIT-Bombay allegedly shot himself dead at his home here and police said a suicide note reflected his "disenchantment" with life. Siddharth Singh Charan (18), a resident of Jhalra Bera area of Mahamandir, was a second year BTech student at IIT-Bombay.
Police said his family heard a loud sound from his room in the morning. They broke open the door only to find him in a pool of blood and their licensed 12 bore rifle near him.
Police later recovered a suicide note, in which he wrote about the "meaninglessness" of life. His father Gajendra Singh Charan is the sub divisional magistrate at Chipa Barod in Baran district.
